Discovery 2.0i Mpi
Q: Poor starting irratic tickover keeps stalling at tickover.
A: Clean Throttle Control Unit remove air ducting from throttle unit and spray some carburettor cleaner in air intake
making sure that the fuel control flap is free from oil grease etc. Oil from the breather pipe builds up and cloggs up the
throttle units stepper motor fuel control flap stopping air flow.. Clean the thin black vacuum pipe from
Manafold to ECU unit this gets clogged.

Q: Rotted Rear Boot Floor
A: commom problem with all discovery but can be avoided with a little care
Reguly take the rear carpet and sound proving mat out and check the rear foor for sines of rust
clean and spray with wd40.Make sure floor mats are dry before replacing,
New Floor panals are available Part No ASR1186

Q: Fitting Auxcillary Lights
A: Most fog and spot lights use 55 Watt Bulbs
I=P/E. for example a 55 watt spot on a 12v system draws 4.6 amps.
only use 'e'-approved lamps on the road. Use 2.5m Cable and a good 30Amp Relay
and if fitting two or more lights use a 15 Amp fuse in line.

The rear axle load for vehicles with air suspension can be increased to a maximum of
1928 kg when towing, provided road speed is limited to 62 mph (100 km/h).

Q: Tyre Pressures
Discovery 1 comes with two tyre sizes
205/70R16
235/70R16
235/70R16 are 60mm wider then 205/70R16 and give better road handling
the rolling radius of 235/70R16 is the same as the original tyre
and so will not affect gearing, speado Etc..No Modifications are required
For normal every day use

When off-roading or green laning

Q: Programming alarm remote keyfob
A:Open the bonnet and ask the assistant to hold down the bonnet switch. Either get into the car and close the door,
or wind down the window and stand outside. NOTE: If you vehicle is fitted with a separate immobiliser, switch it off
as if you were going to drive the vehicle.
Instructions
1 to 7 must be done within 8 seconds!
1) Switch ignition ON
2) Switch ignition OFF
3) Lock doors - using sill button (press down)
4) Unlock doors - using sill button (pull up)
5) Release bonnet switch
6) Switch ignition ON
7) Switch ignition OFF
If the alarm is correctly accessed, the horn will sound and the red alarm LED will light and stay on.
It is now possible to programme the key fob(s).
NOTE: A maximum of 2 key fobs can be programmed.
Carry out instructions 8 - 10 within 2 minutes.
Press and HOLD down button on the first key fob until the alarm LED flashes a few times
9) repeat instruction 8 for the second key fob
10) The alarm LED will go out if both key fobs have been installed correctly
NOTE: If only one key fob is programmed, after instruction 8 turn the ignition
ON and OFF to finalise the programming.
