Welcome to Cornwall's first and best* off-road driving centre.  Established in 1995 by Alec Savery, Off Road It is a venture run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts and offers everything from driving days for the novice to built-to-order 4x4's.

The aim of Off Road It is to let everyone enjoy the thrill that is off-roading, from novice to extreme off-roader.

Not believing in a classroom approach or a man made obstacle course, we feel we offer the real thing and not an expensive drive around some field with a few humps and a puddle! Whether you own a 4x4 or are thinking of buying one to explore the countryside, we can help.

Everything we offer can be tailored to suit individual needs, that includes tuition, play days and tours at home and abroad. We can also offer 4x4 vehicle hire and full workshop facilities to enhance your experience. Off Road It has the lot.

Tours

We can offer green lane guided tours and off-roading trips to Wales. Setting off on a Friday night and returning on Sunday, you will get the chance to drive around Mid-Wales and experience some of the best mountain views available in the country.

You can choose to meet in Wales or follow up from Cornwall. You can also choose between camping rough or staying in a hotel (cheap rates are offered to participants).

The weekend is all about fun and off-roading, by sticking with sensible driving practices, we can all enjoy the sights and mud of other green lanes and tracks. So please remember, no heavy-footed mud slinging whilst on the byways.

Tuition

Experience the thrill that is off-roading and learn how to do it all in one go. No classroom tuition - you didn't learn to drive a car on road by sitting behind a desk! Just 'hands-on' driving. Ideal as a gift or to prepare yourself for 'going it alone'.

Learn the basics of safe and sensible off-road driving from behind the steering wheel. Courses run throughout the year and gift vouchers are available. On completion, you will be sent a certificate of your participation and if requested, a picture CD of you driving.

You will get to drive over the natural trail which is not man-made and enjoy a day out like no other. You will also experience cross-axle sections, steep inclines and water traps.

Available weekdays from 2pm and weekends from 10am.

And don't worry if you haven't got a 4x4, we have a Land Rover V8 110 that can be used for the experience!

Club OffRoadIt

Background

The club was founded in 2008 due to an ever increasing demand for a non competitive, long wheel base and showroom condition off road driving club. It was also suggested that the club should be run along the lines of an adventure club incorporating expedition type scenarios over weekends based both local and further a field.

So far, we have organised several ‘taster weekends’ within Cornwall that have gone very well with potential members now fully signed up.

Membership is valid for 1 year and runs along the MSA (Motor Sport Association) rules and regulations, in fact, depending on member numbers during the next year, we will have the opportunity to become MSA registered.

Becoming a member has several advantages, firstly, you will get priority booking for the mini expedition weekends along with reduced rates on play day, weekend breaks, vehicle maintenance and servicing along with a whole lot more in the pipeline for the future including possible weekend trips to the Land Rover testing ground at Eastnor Castle.
